It will be Totally Free to Transfer FFXIV PS3 to PS4
Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn players now can only play PS3, but the PS4 will come out soon next spring. And all PS3 Players can transfer PS3 to PS4 for free as well as the FFXIV Gil.
After the PS4 is released, players will be able to move their existing PS3 account to the PS4 free of charge when the game comes out on that platform. However, once they make the change, they have given up their right to play on the PS3 again, unless they but a new copy of the game.
After release, the PS4 version of the game will be presented in full 1920 x 1080p resolution and will contain keyboard and mouse support, as well as use the DualShock 4′s touch pad as a mouse like one would a laptop. The CEO of FFXIV expects to be able to show the PS4 version for the first time around the end 2013, and it will be indistinguishable from the PC version, according to the article.
Why do they allow the free transfer? Because with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn coming to PlayStation 4, many fans were concerned that they wouldn't be able to play PS3 version of the game on the new console and have to essentially start from scratch. But developer Square Enix has revealed that it will allow transfers to the new platform.
So the PS4 players will not need to buy FFXIV Power leveling from the level 1 when they start to play PS4 version. This is a good news and we thank Square Enix for doing this.
